Growing in popularity, these bamboo floors are really stunning, showing
the natural knuckle of the bamboo. The colour of the carbonated is a
chocolate brown. Bamboo actual natural colour is whitish however due to
the sugar content of bamboo when boiled it carbonizes and changes to a
caramel colour (similar to the effect of boiling condense milk as it
also caramelized to a brownish colour). So the carbonated bamboo is not
a stain but a full colour throughout the whole board.
 
The process of making the strandwoven bamboo is by taking all the
strands of the bamboo and mixing them with a resin and then this is
baked at high temperature into a solid block and then cut and machined
into flooring. This gives the look of bamboo with added hardness and is
suitable for high traffic areas. |
